Class Reunions

Many alumni request class information and help with publicity for upcoming class reunions. If you are planning a reunion and would like a list of students who were in your graduating class, please email admin@queensvoc.org and we will try to assist. Please note that we are unable to assist in any other way with the planning of a class reunion.

If you have a reunion already planned, we can help publicize it by posting the event information on our website calendar and on Facebook; please email admin@queensvoc.org with all pertinent event details.

The attached Notice of Examinations are opened for filing in October, 2017.   Applicants may visit the MTA Employment website at http://web.mta.info/nyct/hr/appexam.htm to learn more about each title and to apply.

 Open Competitive:

  • Car Maintainer, Group B (Machinist), NYC Transit Exam No. 8601   (Closes October 24, 2017)
  • Maintainer’s Helper – Group B (Auto Mechanic / Electrician’s Helper), NYC Transit Exam No. 8602  (Closes October 24, 2017)
  • Transit Electrical Helper, NYC Transit Exam No. 8606 (Closes October 24, 2017)
  • Track Worker, NYC Transit Exam No. 8600 (Closes October 24, 2017) – No formal educational or experience requirements for this position.

Bronx Construction workers are needed!!!!  We are in need for the following skill sets :

  1. Plumbers Helpers – OSHA 10 and some plumbing experience at a minimum 6 months.
  2. General Laborers – OSHA 10
  3. Masonry- Must have 10 Hour OSHA and a minimum of 6 months construction site experience
  4. Electrical Helper Must have OSHA 10, 4 HOUR Scaffolding and electrical experience.
  5. Carpentry positions -Must have OSHA 10, carpentry experience. Must be able to work full time 35-40 hours.
  6. Excavation Helpers- Must have experience along with OSHA 10
  7. HVAC Helper
  8. General labor- must have Osha10 minimum 6 months experience, 40 hour week + overtime, Saturdays as needed *

*This position is only for Community Board 2 residents.  Zip codes consist of 10474, 10459, 10455

 

Brooklyn:

12.  Floor specialist- 10 hour OSHA, 4 hour Scaffolding. Installing floors and measuring floors.

       Concrete experience.

Please remember that OSHA cards must be renewed every 5 years. All candidates must have a minimum of 6 months on the job experience, preferably 1 year in order to be considered.

Avenue D

(1)  2 Masonry positions. Must have OSHA 10, 4 hour scaffolding and some Masonry experience. Must be able to work 35-40 hours per week.                 

(2) 2 Electrical position. Must have OSHA 10, 4 hour scaffolding, some electrical experience. Must be able to work 35-40 hours.               

(3) 2 Carpentry positions . Must have OSHA 10, 4 Hour scaffolding, some carpentry experience . Must be able to work full time 35-40 hours.

The following opportunities are also available :

(1) Carpentry Helpers with the OSHA and  4 hour scaffolding Certificate. Must have minimum 1 year experience. Knowledge of flooring.                  

(2) HVAC Helper. Must have OSHA 10 and some HVAC experience. Must be able to work full time 32-40 hours.         

(3) Masonry Helper, Must have OSHA 10, 4 hour scaffolding  and some masonry experience. Must be able to work full time and have an understanding of English.
